Alpine Days - 2011

This is our good friend, Will. He and my dad were in New Zealand together in the early 70's. He's very fun. Here he's surprised that I'm not plugging my ears.
Words not needed. Patriotic! So, I guess there is a word.
2012 Camero - TUNED-UP to 800 hp. It's for sale....
Parker, Karmen, and Nicole are on this float. It was so fun to see them.
Lone Peak Knights marching band.
This is the crazy 'artsy' car we sat by.
We went to the rodeo last night. It was great.

Disney Dream Cruise - NOT

Finally.
It's all good. Beautiful.
Good food so far. Where's the buffet? Where's the chocolate room??
Flashlight. I hear there are ghosts...
This looks kind of old and rusty.
AFV did not show machine guns on the Disney Dream Cruise.
For sure there were no torpedo bays.
The happy cruise people did not have to wear headphones.
EXIT is a good idea.
An elevator...OK, maybe.
Baby sharks?
This does NOT count. I thought I spelled it correctly when I wrote 'Disney Dream Cruise' on my list - This was the Queen Mary! We spent the night and went on 3 ghost tours. We were the only people on the scariest tour besides the guide. It advised pregnant ladies and heart attack prone people and people who didn't like loud sounds to keep away. Perfect for us, I guess, neither of us are pregnant, though. We also went to the aquarium and toured a submarine in Long Beach, CA.
Wherever I go, here I am. Bon Voyage!

Fun With Dora

I recently had to go to the hospital...I'll be fine...but I did score big time with Dora thanks to my big sister, Gussie.
This is a note that I wrote to Dora. It's between me and Dora - 'nuff said.
Honeymoon's over.
'This can't be good.'
'I'll never get to visit Grandma and Grandpa Miller's again.'
Victory Dance.
'To the victor goes the spoils.'
'WHAT?????'

'Got to love her...got to love everyone.'

Craters of the Moon National Monument

Here we go, I'm prepared...you know that means I always have my flashlight with me.
It was 100 degrees...and this was a much longer hike than the Rangers would have you believe. The heat didn't bother me, I just put that in for my Mom.
They say this area was formed about 2,100 years ago from the Blue Dragon Flow. Lava flowed up to 18 miles from its source.
This reminds me of the picture of me and my Dad in the Dolomites when I was trying to tell him which was we should go. Poor old guy. I know the direction to a cave is down.
Paradise. It was a relief to be out of the heat. It was nice and cool in the caves.
All eyes, again.
This is the top of the highest cinder cone. It was really windy...like being in a furnace with a hot wind blowing on you.
Back to the truck. Poor old Dad had to turn around part way up...because we forgot to lock the truck...although, it was very hot and we hiked up 18 stories in a very short walk.

Thanks, Dad, this has been on my short list for over a year now. You are the Best!!

Hmm, next on my list it says, a cruise on the Disney Dream in the Bahamas.
What do you think, huh? huh? Dad??? Dad???

Utah Climbing Club Visits 'The City'

It's ALL good.
'On Belay? - Gottcha'
It was such a fun group of climbers.

Sitting in the sun like lizards -
I made some new friends.
Some of the group camped along our cabin driveway. By the end of the day this was lined with tents. People faced their tents toward the beautiful view of Castlerock and got to enjoy the beauty that is here.
