Craters of the Moon National Monument

Here we go, I'm prepared...you know that means I always have my flashlight with me.
It was 100 degrees...and this was a much longer hike than the Rangers would have you believe. The heat didn't bother me, I just put that in for my Mom.
They say this area was formed about 2,100 years ago from the Blue Dragon Flow. Lava flowed up to 18 miles from its source.
This reminds me of the picture of me and my Dad in the Dolomites when I was trying to tell him which was we should go. Poor old guy. I know the direction to a cave is down.
Paradise. It was a relief to be out of the heat. It was nice and cool in the caves.
All eyes, again.
This is the top of the highest cinder cone. It was really windy...like being in a furnace with a hot wind blowing on you.
Back to the truck. Poor old Dad had to turn around part way up...because we forgot to lock the truck...although, it was very hot and we hiked up 18 stories in a very short walk.

Thanks, Dad, this has been on my short list for over a year now. You are the Best!!

Hmm, next on my list it says, a cruise on the Disney Dream in the Bahamas.
What do you think, huh? huh? Dad??? Dad???

Utah Climbing Club Visits 'The City'

It's ALL good.
'On Belay? - Gottcha'
It was such a fun group of climbers.

Sitting in the sun like lizards -
I made some new friends.
Some of the group camped along our cabin driveway. By the end of the day this was lined with tents. People faced their tents toward the beautiful view of Castlerock and got to enjoy the beauty that is here.

GoPro. Be a HERO.

I dreamt I was flying...
Thanks, Marshall!
Can you see my halo?
I think I can, I think I can...

I can get anywhere from here." W.D.

I Graduated From High School!

We went to the cabin to celebrate.
My special treat was a milkshake - I think my brother got a car, but who's counting.
5.10 move
Not successful. I hit my head on the rock, afterall.
This is a cool spot in the "True Grit" climbing area behind Castle Rock.

My Mom kept singing, "Fields of Gold" and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".
Onward and Upward.

Everybody But The Dogs

The girls in my life.
Sunday dinner. See how tricky my Mom is with the camera remote?

In the Air, Again, to Boulder, CO For A Climbing Slide Show

Pre-show Pizza with good friends. I'm on guard from the cat, Pente, who dresses in clothes and is really friendly...I mean REALLY friendly... if you get my drift. I've got my feet off the floor so there are no surprises.
My friends, the Uriostes, from Las Vegas.
Dad told me about this place. Before I was born this is where my family went to dinner - they told me I 'd like it because of the caves and tunnels and they were right.
Boettcher Mansion on Lookout Mountain. We took the whole tour...really great. It reminded me of Scotty's Castle in Death Valley.
This is inside Casa Bonitas. This makes The Mayan seem small. I was all eyes. Dad took me on a great tour. We went in every little nook and cranny. The divers and Black Bart and the Sheriff were still there. My Dad said the food was still bad. I ordered the Little Amigo and my Dad got the Big Gringo.
