Perfect Weekend in Almo, Idaho

First Stop: Tracy General Store for goodies.
Second: Drive around Castle Rocks and then City of Rocks to make sure everything is still there. Sometimes we run into friends (meet them, not over them) and I get to shake their hands.
Third: Say Hi to Mike at the Roll-off. Don't know what a roll-off is? It's a big dumpster. There are two big dumpsters here. Once we saw 2 owls - one flying from the fence and one sitting in the rafters.
Forth: Dinner at The Outpost Steakhouse. I love everyone in this picture. I always get the same thing; grilled cheese, french fries, and orange juice. Em (on my left) is the best cook. She is always smiling and laughing and I like to dance with her. She's a pretty good dancer.
Fifth: A swim at Durfee Hot Springs. Plain, old, awesomeness.
Abstract; I DO have a swimsuit on...and I'm pretty sure that's a mermaid I'm holding.
Sixth: Ready to go to church. We have matching ties on - in case you didn't notice.
Almo Ward. My Favorite.
Here we are. It's all good. The best, even.

Wicked - Capitol Theatre

'Girls' Night Out.
We ate at a restaurant only 'girls' would want to visit. They did have a decent grilled cheese sandwich, but it was on this super-healthy, grainy, nutty, hefty bread and the cheese was something white and fancy. There were no french fries, but they had fresh squeezed orange juice. I kept trying to blow out the candle, which is one of my 'go-to' attention getters when we go out to eat. Imagine my frustration and embarrassment...wait, I never get frustrated or embarrassed - when it turned out to be a battery powered flicker light. The 'girls' just politely acknowledged me and then ignored me. I was making my most appealing effort - and nothing. We didn't have to get the waiter over especially to re-light the candle, nothing. Life's getting tough when you can't get a cheap laugh.

Ensign Peak

Perfect Day! A nice lady took me and Mom and Dad's picture together.

I love my Mom and she loves me!!
I have to say it...'fields of gold'.
So great.

This picture is just for RF...we did not go to H. E. double toothpicks...in fact, we are on Ensign peak, just a half mile from Kolob...and it's a good ride.

Quail Fire - Nature's Fourth

My backyard has seen better days. This is shortly (within 2 hours?) after the Quail Fire began 7/3/12.
This was the view from in front of my house at about the same time as the backyard picture. 7/3/12. I thought it was an earthquake...I did know it was something that wasn't right.
This is the next day - 7/4/12 - the fourth of July. It shows the burn area pretty well. We were evacuated at this point (for two nights) and me and my Mom drove back in to check it out. The red color on the hill is the fire retardant. The planes and helicopters were loud.
This is today 7/5/12. Joyful rain helped the situation and we got to go home.
Here I am doing one of my jobs...bringing in the mail. You can see part of the burn area behind me with a helicopter above me and to the right. How great is it that I needed an umbrella to get the mail?
What are you looking at? Nothing to see here. Cheerio.

This Was A Fun Day

Me and Dad flew to Las Vegas, got the limo treatment from the airport to pick up Dad's new car and then we drove it home with "The Doors" playing full blast. Now I just need my driver's license.
